Claire’s style deeply reflected my own. We were on the same page throughout everything, and it came through on the wedding day. This is one of the main reasons I tell people to connect with each of the vendors they hire. If you don’t feel like they are on the same page, or ‘getting’ who you two are–than they are not for you. You WANT to be able to trust those you hire so on your wedding day all you need to think about is what you are truly there for! But, now I’m on rabbit trail….

I was so honored to be a part of this wedding day celebration! The weather was cold and windy, so we had a last minute change to bring the ceremony inside at Harriet Island. We added in some hot chocolate, turned on that beautiful fireplace, and had ourselves a wonderful time! Darcy hired me for Design and Planning, and it was like I was designing my own wedding {we mesh that well!}. I’ll never forget the moment I threw out at her a Sunday Brunch wedding. Her face lite up, and I could see the wheels turning in her mind. She loved it, and we ran with it! Together we created a beautiful garden escape right by the water–something that Jason and Darcy hold dear to them. We brought in elements of lace, blush, and gold with the perfect hints of sunday brunch that entailed a mimosa bar, food stations, delicate savouries, and a live band. But that was only the reception! The ceremony was held at my favorite ceremony venue – The Woods Chapel. It’s literally a slice of heaven on earth, and you feel like you have just walked into the enchanted garden upon arrival. After the reception, the guests boarded a perfectly fabulous boat and hit the lake as they danced the evening away. The perfect end to the perfect day.

D+J ~ I love you two. I want to thank you for your complete trust in me. I am overjoyed to call you friends, even now.

Also, THANK YOU to my beautiful sister and amazing assistant, Emily. She helped me big time on this wedding. When venues are in two different locations and you have a small window for set-up I relay on Emily so much. We had a ton of details for this wedding, and she carried through for me and then some. Love you, Em.

I have a terrible memory. Really, you can ask anyone that knows me well. I’m always amazed when my friends can recall -in detail- moments from their childhood, or movies that they saw 10 years ago! I can’t remember the movie I saw last week! { I know I shouldn’t admit that being that I’m a planner that has to remember a million things, but don’t worry y’all! I keep a ton of notes. }

So, when I look back on the year at hand, I’m always so grateful that I keep a journal!  Today I got out my journal, and wanted to share a snippet of an entry I penned last year today…about my dreams for 2012.

“I want to figure out a way to help girls that want to be planners. I get so many emails a week from these girls. Most of them have no idea what it entails, and I want to help them. Maybe a video series on a website or classes I teach…. I’m not 100% sure… but it’s brewing. I’d like to step into it more this year.”

Well, friends I stepped out, and I think stepping out is the most important part. Everything else falls into place-you just have to take that first step. SO! I’m happy to say that I am launching my new website for aspiring planners next month!!! It’s exciting, and nerve-racking at the same time, but I’m thrilled to be walking out the visions in my heart. I still don’t know entirely what it looks like, but do we ever have a complete picture for our lives? I think not. I’m thrilled to be continuing to follow the dreams God has given me!

Rachel and Peter’s wedding was no different. In fact, I love SO many photos, it’s really hard to narrow them down for one blog post {but I tried! }. R+P are the cream of the crop. Throughout our planning, they were always respectful, polite, loving, and joyful to be with. I love how they complete one another with such strength. You can tell they lean on, and love each other in mere seconds of being with them. In our first meeting, we talked for literally hours, and I didn’t wipe the smile off my face when we left one another that day. Because they truly-without-a-shadow-of-a-doubt LOVE one another. In the deepest, most genuine way. That, my lovely friends, makes this heart of mine burst with joy.

We had the honor to be one of the first weddings held at Hope Glen Farm in Cottage Grove, MN. The owners {Michael and Paula} go above and beyond to make your wedding wishes come true. On the wedding day, the weather was not on our side, but R+P rolled with it, knowing it’s not about the weather–it’s about their love. At one point in the day they were standing on a set of stairs looking down on their guests with smiles literally exploding from their faces. When I approached them they said “We’re taking a mental picture right now of this moment”. Yep, it’s safe to say, that I love them.

…and I think you will too {if you don’t already of course!}.

There is something so magical and beautiful about fall, isn’t there? I have a very special place in my heart for it. I was delighted and honored to be a part of a beautiful fall scape with a truly {inside and out} beautiful couple who were celebrating their ten year anniversary, and who we chose to be our models for the day. Every time I looked over at them skipping around the amazing property of Hope Glen Farm, my face lite up. The day/evening was truly magical in every sense of the word.
